Welcoming Rick Feltner to the Advisory Board

Advisory Board Update

We would like to welcome Rick Feltner to our Advisory Board. He shared his story in May’s Connected Together newsletter, and everyone can see what an asset he will be to iCARE.

“I am an Advocate Supervisor with CASA of the Tenth Judicial Circuit in Illinois. I happened to meet Laura Adams at the Illinois CASA Convention this year in Normal, Illinois. As I watched the presentation on iCARE4 Adoptive and Foster Families, I knew this was an organization that I needed to support.

As a former foster youth and an adoptee, I understand firsthand the struggles this unique subset of children faces in the school system and beyond. Developmental trauma is real and can affect a child well into adulthood. Early intervention is necessary to address these specific needs of foster and adopted youth, and iCARE4 Adoptive And Foster Families is the only organization I have found that is directly supporting those needs with real tools like their Connection Kits and Adoption and Foster Friendly Schools program. This work is urgently needed, and I look forward to helping the program reach schools and families in Illinois and beyond.” – Rick Feltner
