iCARE 4 Adoptive And Foster Families is an innovative nonprofit designed to improve the lives of children in foster, adoptive, and kinship families by providing the tools, training, and resources needed to support their academic and social-emotional success. Our focus is on connecting the school system with families, professionals, and legislators. Here’s how we are making an impact in 2025:
- School-Based Training for Educators
iCARE is prioritizing NTI Adoption Competency Mental Health Training for educators across Illinois, helping them support children with trauma and attachment challenges. - iCARE4 Schools Connection Kits
We’re making it our goal to distribute comprehensive kits to every Illinois school, offering trauma-informed resources to foster positive relationships and inclusive school environments. - Diverse Family Books in School Libraries
We’re placing books about foster, adoptive, and kinship families in school libraries to promote empathy, belonging, and understanding. - Scholarships for Future Social Workers
iCARE is raising funds for scholarships to support social work students specializing in adoption and foster care. - Launching the iCARE Newsletter
Our new newsletter fosters collaboration between schools, parents, and legislators. - Reaching Over 400 Professionals
iCARE has reached over 400 professionals and distributed over 600 resources at seven conferences, spreading trauma-informed strategies across Illinois.
