Connected Together™ is our monthly e-newsletter designed to bring families, educators, mental health professionals, and all those who support adoptive, foster, and kinship children together. Each edition features helpful articles, real stories, and the latest research to keep you informed, inspired, and connected.
March 2026
March invites us to honor the professionals whose work often happens quietly, yet powerfully — especially school social workers. In National School Social Work Month, we recognize that children carry their pasts with them into classrooms, friendships, and learning spaces. When schools and families share understanding — not just of behavior, but of a child’s story — trust can grow, regulation can strengthen, and connection can take root.
For adoptive, foster, and kinship children, permanency is not a finish line — it’s ongoing. Healing is reinforced through everyday partnership: counseling offices, IEP meetings, team conversations, and the steady presence of trusted adults. This month’s Connected Together™ highlights what becomes possible when home and school are truly connected — through scholarship support for school social work leaders, forward movement in policy, and a featured reflection on supporting teenagers with disrupted attachment histories.
Healing is a team effort.
Connection is a group project.
And together, we help children grow, trust, and thrive.

February 2026
February invites us to reflect on the heart — not just as a symbol of love, but as the place where early experiences shape safety, trust, and connection. For children impacted by adoption, foster care, and kinship care, those early experiences can leave lasting impressions that follow them into families, classrooms, and communities.
This month, we’re exploring what happens when a child’s heart is wounded early — and how healing becomes possible when caregivers, educators, and systems respond with understanding instead of pressure. From family stories to policy change, from professional learning to school-wide commitments, the message we continue to hear is clear:
Understanding changes everything.
Connection leads the way.
And when we respond differently, children can truly thrive.

December 2025 / January 2026
As the holidays approach, we’re nudged to look ahead — to what’s possible for our families, our work, and the children we serve. It’s a season built on potential.
This year, I’ve been especially moved by almost 500 parents, caregivers, teachers, and social workers who joined our trainings. Your openness to learning and reimagining support for adopted, foster, and kinship kids was unmistakable. In every room, I heard the same heartbeat:
We’re ready for something different. A reset. A better way forward.
