A Love Note to Caregivers

Colored felt hearts on a red background

Bless you, who show up not because it’s easy, but because of love.

Because you know that love is worth the cost.

I see you trying to balance the impossible:

being present
being patient
being enough for everyone.

It’s love that stretches you beyond your limits.

It’s giving when you feel you have nothing left, and finding–somehow–that you do.

Sometimes it doesn’t feel like love.

It feels like frustration, exhaustion, and longing for a life that’s a little less….relentless.

And that’s okay.

It’s hard to remember that you need care, too.

It’s not unkind to admit that some days are harder than others.

Let yourself rest.

You are doing sacred work.
